The Port Stanley Lions and Lioness clubs donated $10,000 this week to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, contributing the clubs’ earnings from their 11th annual golf tournament and fish fry. More formally known as the Marr Family Golf Tournament – named after George and Max Marr, Charter Members of the Lions Club – the tournament has raised over $125,000 since its inception. The tournament is held every year at Kettle Creek Golf and Country Club, which was built on the Marr family farm.
