Southwold Mayor Grant Jones sure knows how to throw a great Canada Day party. Hundreds of people of all ages, from across the township and beyond, turned out Thursday for a brilliant fireworks display at Fingal Ball Park. The event is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Fingal-Shedden and District, with thanks also to the Green Lane Community Trust.
There was birthday cake for everyone, plus ice cream, face painting and the longest conga line in Southwold.
Pulling up the rear on the fireworks conga line were Karen Vecchio, the Conservative Party Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London, and Rob Flack, Progressive Conservative Member of Provincial Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London.
